Description

The words don't come out good.

Blacklisted

See, this flavor of Junip... the one that talks with instead of blathers at... is much more relatable.

    Like, a person.

Dicks aren't people (even though some people are dicks).

If you want to be a person, don't lead with your dick. Except, of course, in those moments in which you're content not to be. Like, at a glory hole.

  • it’s somewhat rare to see this particular sort of vulnerability from either Junip (in a “he genuinely has his shit together and thus doesn’t often really exhibit vulnerability of this sort” way) and Casper (in a “he is so aloof and withdrawn in some senses that he simply is not frequently vulnerable like this” way), and I have to say, this sort of candor and mutual growth between them makes their dynamic all the more enjoyable and fascinating to watch develop!

  • Getting "I'm just my dick" From "You have a nice dick that stands out" is kinda crazy.

I see where Junip is coming from but how the hell would anyone ever feel insulted over such a compliment???

  • I mean, that's literally all he was seeing while he was keeping count. Only learned that evening who it was attached to.

Literally like. "Im just a dick to you" Is... isn't that the point of gloryholes? Of course this latest encounter and connecting the dots is different but thats not what Casper is saying by just COMPLIMENTING.

Take it from a woman whose dick measures up with her medium Bad Dragon Vector. I've lost to fevered appetites some friends I'd considered sisters. If that's all anyone ever notices or wants from you, it hurts.

Where is the rest of Junip? Is he even wanted? What about his hopes, his ions, his desires, his dreams? Is he needed in his own life, or is he just a soft-skinned, hot-blooded pole-and-hole even outside of the scene? Is kink all he is allowed to be?

You saw that sadness in his eyes when Cas blew up and pushed him away again; he keeps trying, but Junip didn't know how to speak Casper's language because Casper's language is so subtle. If there's finally a bridge between these men... but the bridge is just a foot of flesh and nothing more... then it's no bridge at all. Junip would have to go back to his earlier bullshit, trying too hard to reach Cas and getting nowhere — or just being a dick. The moment they shared would be just a fleeting moment, and the rift and the resentment would only grow.

Tell the prettiest people how pretty they are, and you'll get that empty smile. Maybe they feel ungrateful and berate themselves for not just taking the compliment. Maybe they're just tired. Ask them sincerely what really gets their heart leaping and their brain ticking, though, and maybe you've found a friend who has, for so long, really needed a friend who wants to know them in a way beyond biblically.

Short story long but you get me, yeah? I'm sorry for being long-winded; Glopossum just has this warmth, you know? Drags the heart out from the chest and onto the sleeve. Her art shares the kind of humanity that makes this therian feel at home.

Anyway, keep asking questions and keep being kind. Ciao ciao for nao nao.

  • I took Junip's mention about "Just a dick" as a light hearted bring-up just to bring the conversation and not that they took insult to it (such as Casper would reply back to) though I can't explain what I mean

Like I feel there could have been a lighthearted chuckle before Junip spoke in that middle or even a specific tone that can't be brought through with text

But that's also the greatness in art and comics, a lot of it can be taken how the viewer interprets it too even if it isn't the artist's intention

I've sat with your words for the last few days and I've finally figured out what bothers me about them. I'm sorry if it's a bit late or if it's not really the place—or not my place at all, haha. I really do talk too much.

Just thinking about it, though... It feels a bit cruel, you know? "If you want to be a person, don't lead with your dick."—and a lot of us know something about depersonalization, don't we? Together with the rest of your thoughts, it all comes off as something between "If you don't want to be used for sex, you shouldn't be such a good fuck." and "You're so annoying that you're lucky we keep you around for your incredible dick." I doubt that was the intent, but it feels reminiscent of what we've been hearing for decades or centuries, like the queer community's own version of "I don't hate gay people; I just hate how gay they are. Why can't they just be normal and keep their gay shit where I don't have to see it?" except with the idea that the gay shit should be kept in bed with us, haha.

Blaming Junip's friendliness, flirtiness, flamboyance, openness, and/or enthusiasm for other people's dismissal of all of that personality when they decide they like his dick more than his mouth or his heart... As a self-proclaimed (pretentious) sweetheart and a fellow blatherer, that sucks to see. I mean, it's not as though, outside of a club or a scene or a place of consent meant for such, he's pulling his dick out with strangers to get their attention. He's probably made some good friends through a job so social, let alone his hobbies and interests; if he likes them enough to bring them home (or into a nearby single-occupant restroom) and then never again hears anything from them except Hey Boi How Bout Dat Dick Dough, how crushed do you imagine he'd be?

Junip is supposed to be, in this instance, the guy with whom Casper just doesn't gel—someone whose 'obnoxious' traits are those noticed by the perspective, and his positive traits largely ignored or kept at length. If Junip so irritates Casper, then a Casper point of view is going to skew things... but never was he going dick-first into anything but a glory hole and a nice ass. He's not leading with his dick. Throughout the whole of Willow's works, I don't think I've ever seen him lead with his dick—not even when he and Elise first connected their sexuality.

If it's just about his flamboyant personality and his flirty nature, though, then you've got to understand that that's just a part of who Junip is. It should never be considered the whole of his worth. If a partner isn't mature enough to respect the person whose big honkin pechingus or bazongahemas or whatever have gotten them so entranced, and to accept it just a facet of what makes them wonderful, then that's not a failing of the object of their affection; it's a failing of their affection, if there was any affection at all.

Just coming from me, I think said affection is what Junip really needs—to feel, to share, and to experience. Glory holes are one thing, but he's usually trying not just to fuck, but to have a good time. But I suppose ya grrl might just be another overly chatty, overly affectionate dick. That's why empathy is our greatest resource: it's all a matter of perspective.

I'm sorry for leaving another lengthy post on the same page of the same story. I'm not intending to paint anyone as, you know, Bad™, but I think it's worth a think about the thinks we think, don't you think? ^ω^ Willow's work gives me a lot to think about and a lot to feel. Maybe someone else feels it too.

  • I just LOVE this comic so much! The characters are great and so beautiful, sex scenes hot and colors, too, so pretty! I have fallen in live with Junip (hopefully ed his name right) ❤️ He is just so darn pretty! His colors reminds me of Shidou Ryusei (gay boy) from Blue Lock anime. I love that boy :D

  • I would have liked if in this , after Junip says "Well, I guess I was hoping tonight meant something more to you.", he would have followed it up with, "And for that, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been having those kinds of expectations." or something similar.

Just feels like it needs to be said, I suppose. Maybe my intuition is wrong but, I think having someone say that would put so much pressure on a person unfairly. Junip doesn't really know or understand Casper's perspective yet, what if he had decided he wasn't willing to reconcile, or was still coming around to the idea? I could imagine saying something so....heavy without following it up with an opportunity for the other person to have a choice on how they want to react to it could make them shut down or fawn to appease your emotions. It feels slightly coercive.
