    Cool story, but as interesting as it is, there's a flaw in it… gravity does not come from the core of planets, stars nor black holes… even though we dont know HOW gravity works EXACTLY, we do know that the more MATTER a body has, the stronger its gravitational pull. Planets and starts have a stronger pull than meteorites, so rather than Mercury's core pulling the planet, the planet would have pulled the core towards the planet.

    Incorrect: gravity, even from a mild spec can influence a boulder (so minutely, though it,s still there.)

    That said, if it was Mercury, then the pull from Earth and mercury could have negated each other a bit and had more likely skew the orbit slightly, yes?

    However, the key wording is "one of the nearest planets" I.E. it could have been Venus, a planet with far more mass, that would have disrupted the orbit of Earth.

    Yet finally, none of the mention of gravity was ever made in the comic, but a magnet field... so actually it is the magnetic poles that really got altered.

    If the poles shift, so will the axis on which the planet spins. That is to say the cold poles get rather warmer and the equator gets cooler since the amount of direct sunlight being exposed per average is not the same. This however is determined based on the strength of the magnetic fluctuation towards this shift.

    (once again, per the many times I've said this, my explaining skills are lacking) however, what I said is still to point. Hopefully I could make that understandable, cause I'd rather not want to crack open my physics and astronomy textbooks this late at night with a splitting headache.

Also those talking about Anon/Satiyama comparison, the (artist?/author?) for One Punch Man to be the whole average "John Doe" appearance [or the 'enter your preferred casual hero appearance here' approach], or maybe I'm mistaken. Which that was the same thing I it being that r the guy in Monster Musume though that is the whole 'imagine you're him' way to view things).

    1) I mentioned Mercury because it's the closest planet to our Sun, but yes, it could have been Venus'…

    2) Gravity could be considered, quote:

    The strongest force, and yet the weakest.

    -as magnetism can easily overtake it's range of metals as in lifting them off the ground, opposite of gravity, but, I highly doubt that a core could have enough magnetic force to pull our planet out of orbit, even IF it is a strong enough ferro-magnet to affect the Earth's Iron-Nickle core.

    And 3) the only thing i cant argue against is the fact that magnetism CAN affect a planet's rotational axys, as our Moon slows down the speed of our planet's rotations, BUUUTT, I dont thing it would have the mass to pull our planet off the Sun's orbit… well, in the comic, they're refferencing the 'Slingshot Effect' (look it up) but still, it would need either a POWERFUL force to doit, or have enough mass for gravity to help out.

  • So with this theory, Equestria, or Earth, is now a rogue planet drifting through deep space, but with its own miniature star and moon in which magical horses inhabiting the planet move however they wish.

    ...wonder what'll happen if the Earth drifts into the path of an asteroid, or even another planet.
