Karma

karma is a score that tracks how reliable an er you are. As you posts that get approved, your karma goes up. As posts get deleted, it goes down. Once you've built up enough karma, your s skip the review queue and go live right away.

This page explains the three things worth knowing: slots, how karma changes, and the free- level.

slots

While you're still building up karma, your s go through the staff review queue. You can only have so many posts waiting in that queue at once — that's your slots.

You start with a base number of slots. Something is subtracted from that number for each of your posts that's currently:

- pending (waiting for a reviewer),
- flagged,
- or a pending replacement you've submitted.

A few things to keep in mind:

- Your slots go back up as pending posts clear the queue — get approved, and the slot frees up.
- If you run out of slots, you'll need to wait for some of your pending posts to be reviewed before you can more.
- Your slot count never drops below zero.

Slots are only about how many posts you can have in the queue at once. They're not the same as the separate hourly limit, which always applies.

How karma is gained and lost

Karma changes based on what happens to the posts you :

A couple of details worth calling out:

- Takedowns don't affect your karma. When a post is removed at the artist's request, that isn't a mark against you, so your karma stays exactly where it was — it doesn't go down when the post is taken down, and it doesn't go back up if it's later restored.
- Deletions cost more than an approval earns. A single deletion pulls your karma down by more than one approval raised it, so consistently ing posts that stick is what builds karma over time.
- Reversals are exact. If a post is deleted and then restored, your karma ends up right back where it started.

Your karma is shown as a level from 0 to 10, with a progress bar toward the next level on your card. The levels are spaced out so that early levels come quickly and higher ones take much more consistent ing. The top level (10) is shown as an "S" rank.

Karma shown to you is never negative — the lowest it will ever display is 0.

The free- level

Once your karma reaches the free- level, your s stop going through the review queue and are posted directly, already approved. By default this happens at level 1.

At that point:

- slots no longer limit you — they only matter while you're below the free- level.
- Your posts go live immediately instead of waiting for a reviewer.
- The separate hourly limit still applies.

If your karma later drops back below the free- level (for example, after a run of deletions), your s go back through the queue until you climb above it again.

There's no head start: every begins at 0 karma and earns its way up through normal ing.
