Grover Aokiyama is a gay male Grovyle character owned by Bagu. He debuted in the Caught series and is the POV character for most of the story "Knock First." Since the end of "Knock First," Grover, his boyfriend Darren, his father Junji, and Darren's father Richard are all dating each other.

As a young Treecko, Grover and his father moved to Kanto from Hoenn after Junji's husband ed away. Grover and Junji are both bilingual, speaking both Hoennese (Japanese) and Kantonian (English). Grover became friends with Darren once they both had evolved. Grover and Darren attend Pewter City College but live at home with their respective fathers. Grover plays for the school's baseball team, the Pewter Boulders, as a pitcher. Darren is on the wrestling team and Grover watches his matches. Grover and Richard have strong opinions about professional baseball.

Grover and Darren play video games together. In STRAIN, a cooperative shooter game, Grover focuses on dealing damage and avoiding attacks while Darren plays a tank. Grover and Darren like to bump elbows with each other as a greeting or celebratory action.

Grover is a very shy and anxious person. Despite knowing his dad is also gay, Grover had not come out to him and was not out publicly. He planned to come out to the dads during the events of "Knock First," but his plans were interrupted. Though Grover thought otherwise, Junji and Richard tell him they already knew. Grover also harbored a crush on Richard and wrongly thought he kept it secret. He always refers to Richard as "Mr. Ashfield," even during his fantasies about him and later during sex. In "Knock First," he accidentally started to call him "Dad" before catching himself, and Richard did not acknowledge it.

Like most Hoennese Pokémon in the story's universe, Grover and Junji have genital slits and hemipenes. Their breath is sweet and minty. The two sometimes platonically shower together.

Grover's name on the texting app he and Darren use is "KazeNiMauHa".

So far, in the story and drawings, Grover is the only one of the four to never have been in a dominant position, the only one to never anally penetrate another, and the only one to perform autofellatio.
