Yeah... personally that's the most frustrating part when this type of derivative media arrives time to time, much more if the character/series actually had a charm or at least a thing that could be used for a more interesting type of horror but it was dumped for some reason T~T

Even that game over screen is more iconic than a generic slasher with a recognizable face in the cover, mostly because this is actually about the character in question
