just me or are the grayer parts static

this image has high amounts of dithering, it's just more noticeable in the gray areas

    The pun, where is it?

    The comment
"Ahhh, panties aside. Truly an artist of fine taste."
    Could be interpreted as
'Besides the panties, this artist is great'
    Or
'This artist is great because they drew panties on them shifted to the side'

I'm assuming the commenter that asked if it was a pun interpreted it the first way

The character in the gif has their panties shifted to the side so they can have sex.

"Panties aside" and the gif has a character with panties 'aside'

    Hence "Pun intended I suppose"

(Am I missing a joke here?)

Damn, I think you looked more into the pun than the original commenter, respect for that

Seems like that's because there's multiple identical frames, where the only difference between otherwise identical frames is some subtle film grain noise overlaid that changes between the frames.

Which is hard to notice due to the aggressive dithering, Which I'd bet is caused by that exact film grain noise overlay.
