Description

Bit of a personally meaningful piece, I suppose. Basically, I've been doing this for more than ten years now, well over a thousand drawings, and it undeniably had an impact on my wrist. My left hand has effectively been rendered useless for anything else. I can't lift anything, put weight on it or bend it too far without immediate strain and discomfort. I can feel my wristbones have changed. So I thought to draw something around that, and to reflect it in my sona.

Creativity has often been seen as divine inspiration, so, well... I don't know if I'm romanticising it too much, but I like to think about it as touching the divine, and that having consequences?
And in my case, the deity would be Eris, and the 'touching' is high intensity sapphic handholding <3

As for reflecting it in my sona, she'll probably have some sort of prosthesis going forwards! (not in the ongoing comics, but in other stuff)!

Yes, that's ancient greek in the corner, I did my best to write it correctly! Please tell me if you happen to spot an obvious mistake!

In any case, no worries I'm fine! Just starting to notice the consequences of doing art all the time. As long as I'm careful not to push it too hard, it doesn't hurt by itself. <3
Might draw more of her, if that isn't too sacrilegious >w>

You mention if you're unsure if you're romanticizing it too much but I don't think so. I think doing something for so long that it literally alters your skeleton structure is inherently romantic. It's a physical love letter to whatever you're doing that is causing it.

Anyway, I love this piece! It's beautiful, and clearly has a lot of meaning behind it.

I love your artwork so much I hope you can keep it up for many more years to come.

Fun fact: medieval archers arms would deform over time from the immense force put upon them from the bow!

  • this piece helped me find Goddess in Eris. you really nailed the "hair comprised of stars and universes" from the Principia Discordia, i love your vision of Her.
sapphic paw holding is the best way to lose an arm tbh

  • If you're satisfied with your hand being only able to draw, the only concern would be whether your hand could progress to become unable to draw either, methinks.
