By the time I finished reading the books, Icewings and Mudwings became my favorite dragon tribe in of design. Next being the "nature" tribes, Rainwings and the Pantala tribes. So naturally, making a new OC would be in order. I started to think of a unique design when it came to me 'huh, what about a hybrid? It would be more fun and challenging eh?'. So I did. Combining the rugged, earthly and tough look of a Mudwing and the angular, crystalline sharpness of an Icewing I made sure my first OC will have the defining hallmarks of the two. And to add and preserve feminine traits, I made her front heavy with matching curved features on her torso. The decision to make her far larger than normal for her age is my own reason lol. Her overall theme represents the tundra, a biome that is cold and mostly wet and boggy. Added an additional name for her: Ptarmigan. To fall in line with the naming tradition. -Heck, if you want to ask questions regarding Ptarmigan feel free :) I want to expand her story as much as I can.

Lore summary: Her timeline is set around 23 years after Arc 3 Ptarmigan(chosen by her dad)/Themis(chosen by her mom from a suggestion by a scavenger friend) was born from a Mudwing mother and an Icewing father, both living in Sanctuary. She was growing normally until she reached 4 years old, that's when her huge growth spurt kicked off. At nine years of age she attained the height and size of someone like Morrowseer or Burn. She made use of her size, strength and nimbleness to help in construction and maintenance of the city. She became a local 'celebrity' because of her contribution. She had known the Jade Mountain Academy when she was little and yearned to go and study there. It is only this time when she finally persuaded her parents and community to let her enroll in the school after years of setbacks. The DoD never had a student of her size, so they needed to adjust some of their common rooms and classrooms in order for her to fit in. Ptarmigan awkwardly offered her help in the adjustments though. She is currently clawmates with Yucca, my Leafwing OC.
